Baseball Recap: Forrest Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Forrest posted their closest victory since March 25, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rockford Christian Royal Lions 8-7. The victory was nothing new for the Rockets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Reid Gentry looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kason Fuller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Tyler Baxter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Forrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Forrest's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Rockford Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forrest will venture away from home to challenge Grundy County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rockford Christian, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Rockford Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
