APTOS, Calif. -
Aptos (Calif.) took an early lead against Soquel (Calif.) and held on for a 47-6 victory on Saturday.
The Mariners put up 20 points in the opening frame. Aptos scored on a touchdown run by
Connon Houser, a
Louie Demicell touchdown run and a touchdown run by
CJ Pistorino.
After taking the lead on a Houser touchdown run in the first quarter, AHS led 31-0 at the half.
The Mariners grew their lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. Aptos scored two times in the third, including once on an
Alex Joh touchdown pass to
Brooks Nicholson.
Soquel's lone touchdown came on a 28-yard run by Andres Garcia in the third quarter.
AHS came into the game allowing 14.7 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Mariners came away with a 32-21 victory.
The win brought Aptos' winning streak to four games.
