The Hunters Lane Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hillsboro, falling 73-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hunters Lane in their matchups with Hillsboro: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Hunters Lane had strong showings from James Davis, who scored eight points, and Amarien Kelly, who scored six points.
Hillsboro was led to victory by Xavier Washington and Arnez Anderson. Washington scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Anderson scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortez Graham-Howard, who scored six points along with three steals.
Hunters Lane bumped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hillsboro, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane will take on McGavock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McGavock is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Hillsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Nashville Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Nashville Magnet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Hillsboro is ranked 17th).
