The Pantego Christian Panthers lost against the San Antonio Christian Lions back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pantego Christian suffered a tough 68-46 loss at the hands of San Antonio Christian. While losing is never fun, Pantego Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 679th, while San Antonio Christian is ranked 275th).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tristan Brown, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Jamerson Green was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Pantego Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for San Antonio Christian, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Pantego Christian will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Geneva has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. San Antonio Christian and San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool will face off at 3:15 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three contests.
