The Moses Brown Quakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tiverton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Moses Brown will be looking to keep their 20-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Moses Brown can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 53-33 margin over Mt. Hope. Given Moses Brown's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Mt. Hope is ranked 34th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Moses Brown found their leader in underclassman Lauren Bousquet, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bousquet has scored at least a third of Moses Brown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Perez, who scored five points along with eight assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Tiverton beat Mt. Hope 50-42 on Friday. 50 seems to be a good number for Tiverton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Tiverton found their leader in underclassman Cami Oliveira, who scored 18 points. Jah'niece Branch was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Moses Brown's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Tiverton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Moses Brown against Tiverton when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-34 win. Does Moses Brown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tiverton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
