After four games on the road, St. Brendan is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th.
St. Brendan suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Miami 72-32. St. Brendan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
The losing side was boosted by Jaden Castro, who scored 16 points. Sofia Toro was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though Archbishop McCarthy has not done well against Oxbridge Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Archbishop McCarthy breezed by Oxbridge Academy at home to the tune of 52-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Archbishop McCarthy has posted since December 8, 2023.
St. Brendan's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
St. Brendan might still be hurting after the 53-33 loss they got from Archbishop McCarthy in their previous meeting back in November of 2015.
