The Gorton Wolves will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Barack Obama School for Social Justice Lightning at 3:30 p.m. on January 15th. Gorton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 866th, while Barack Obama School for Social Justice is ranked 360th).
Last Tuesday, Gorton ended up a good deal behind Saunders Trades & Tech and lost 72-53. That's two games in a row now that Gorton has lost by exactly 19 points.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama School for Social Justice was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-45 to Irvington. Barack Obama School for Social Justice has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Seediya Jabbi, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Raheem Azeez, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Gorton bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Barack Obama School for Social Justice, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Gorton was dealt a bruising 73-45 defeat at the hands of Barack Obama School for Social Justice in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Gorton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
