The St. Catherine's Saints will head out on the road to challenge the Flint Hill Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Catherine's is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.
St. Catherine's is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Collegiate 25-1 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Saints with their most commanding win of the season.
Kinnady Branch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

03/19/25 @ Saint Gertrude | 4 |
03/29/25 @ Middlesex | 3 |
03/29/25 vs Nottoway | 2 |
03/26/25 @ Deep Run | 2 |
In other batting news, Olivia Tull was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Keira Frazier also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
St. Catherine's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Flint Hill got the win against Sidwell Friends on Thursday by a conclusive 11-2. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Quakers: they've now won seven in a row.
Cate Stanley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Jane Stanley was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zaina Gilbert, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
St. Catherine's pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Flint Hill, their record now sits at 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Catherine's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Flint Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Catherine's beat Flint Hill 5-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
