The Cascade Cadets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beech Grove. Even though they lost, Cascade's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the defeat, Cascade saw an underclassman step up: Toby Savini scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Weakley, who scored six points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beech Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Branden Okelley, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Okelley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarron Murry jr., who scored 15 points.
Cascade now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Beech Grove, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16.
Cascade and Northview will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cascade is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. Beech Grove will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Triton Central at 7:30 p.m. on February 16th.
