There's no place like home for the Ocean View Seahawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over Garden Grove on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ocean View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Ackerman out in front who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ackerman hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Girotti, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Garden Grove still got an impressive performance from Drue Anzai, who scored 25 points. Grant Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Garden Grove struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are 1-2 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Ocean View's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Garden Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
Ocean View will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Westminster's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Garden Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Godinez Fundamental at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Godinez Fundamental is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
