Phillips is 2-8 against Hackleburg since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Phillips Bears' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hackleburg Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Phillips will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Hackleburg is ranked 193rd).
Last Tuesday, Phillips had to suffer through a rough 55-19 loss at the hands of Belgreen. Phillips has struggled against Belgreen recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hackleburg earned a 46-33 win over Vina on Tuesday.
Phillips' loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Hackleburg, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Phillips was dealt a bruising 72-34 loss at the hands of Hackleburg when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Phillips avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
