After a string of three wins, the Plainfield South Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 71-62 to Naperville North. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Plainfield South still got an impressive performance from Jazlynn Foster, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Page, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks.
Naperville North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Frempong, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Frempong has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Podkasik, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Plainfield South's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Naperville North, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Plainfield South will head out on the road to square off against Joliet Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Joliet Central is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Naperville North, they will be playing at home against Conant at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
