The Corry Beavers will square off against the Girard Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Girard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Corry, who comes in off a win.
Corry gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Conneaut Area with a sharp 9-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Karson Chamberlin
Karson Chamberlin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Corry is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Chamberlin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Carson Braswell was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Girard's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairview on Monday. The Yellowjackets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Corry pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Girard, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Corry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Girard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Corry suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Girard in their previous meeting on April 9th. Will the Beavers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
