Baseball Recap: Fairley Gets the Win

Fairley won the last time they faced Sheffield and things went their way on Thursday too. Fairley came out on top against Sheffield by a score of 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Antonio Rudd was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Edward Hunt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Fairley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheffield only posted an OBP of .429.

Fairley's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sheffield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-1.

Coming up, Fairley is taking a road trip to square off against Freedom Prep Academy on Monday. Freedom Prep Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something Fairley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sheffield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis Business Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
