Citronelle has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Jackson Aggies at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Citronelle didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Chickasaw, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory.
Meanwhile, even though Clarke County scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Jackson still came out on top. Jackson managed a 62-58 victory over Clarke County. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Clarke County is ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Micah Caster was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Landon Duckworth was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
St. Paul's Episcopal's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Citronelle's defeat dropped theirs to 0-4.
Citronelle came up short against Jackson in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, falling 66-61. Can Citronelle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
