The LaCrosse Leopards came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Central Plains with points to spare, taking the game 45-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as LaCrosse also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
LaCrosse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gage Burk, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Burk has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Morgan, who scored nine points along with six steals.
LaCrosse's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Central Plains, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4-1.
LaCrosse will head out on the road to square off against Pawnee Heights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully LaCrosse focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Central Plains, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ness City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ness City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Central Plains likes a good challenge.
