The Linganore Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Westminster. Linganore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westminster apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Linganore's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Donaldson, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Petruzzello, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Linganore has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Westminster, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linganore will face off against South Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Hagerstown is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to challenge Manchester Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester Valley and Westminster are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
