The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 57-26 victory over Northern Lebanon at home. Given Lampeter-Strasburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Northern Lebanon is ranked 584th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lampeter-Strasburg to victory were Chase Smucker and Justin Glick. Smucker scored 18 points along with four steals, while Glick scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Smucker has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Yasin Abdi was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and two steals.
Lampeter-Strasburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Northern Lebanon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cocalico the next time they take the court. Lampeter-Strasburg will host Cocalico at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Northern Lebanon will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
