Baseball Game Preview: Seaholm Maples vs. Harper Woods Pioneers

Seaholm has gone a perfect 3-0 against Harper Woods recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Maples will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. Seaholm is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Seaholm made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Greenhills, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Maples fell just short of the Gryphons by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Maples have suffered since June 8, 2024.

Cobie Early was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Ozzy Borman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Harper Woods was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to Ferndale.

Kameron Garfield made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Harper Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Seaholm, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seaholm has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harper Woods struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Seaholm's way against Harper Woods in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Seaholm made off with a 16-1 win. Do the Maples have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
