North Phoenix Preparatory Academy had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of Anthem Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat North Phoenix Preparatory Academy has suffered since December 8, 2023.
North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Ellaina Wakeham and Samantha Daniel. Wakeham scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks, while Daniel scored no points. Wakeham hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Daniel, who scored three points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
North Phoenix Preparatory Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Anthem Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Valley Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. North Valley Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
