The Madison Bulldogs lost against the Vermillion Tanagers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Madison was dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of Vermillion. Madison has not had much luck with Vermillion recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellie Osthus, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Osthus has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaya Engels, who scored 13 points.
Madison struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Madison's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Vermillion, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Madison will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Alcester-Hudson at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday. As for Vermillion, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dakota Valley at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Dakota Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
