The Sapulpa Chieftains will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Memorial Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Sapulpa has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three games.
Sapulpa can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Coweta 58-35.
Sapulpa's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Taylor Bilby, who scored 17 points, and Tyla Heard, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Heard is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Riki Mcquarters was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against the Buffaloes on Friday and fell 59-50. While losing is never fun, Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 97th).
Sapulpa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Memorial, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Sapulpa was able to grind out a solid win over the Chargers in their previous matchup back in January, winning 51-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sapulpa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
