The Northmont Thunderbolts will venture away from home to take on the Brookville Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northmont will be strutting in after a victory while Brookville will be coming in after a defeat.
Northmont was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wayne on Friday. The Thunderbolts were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Kaden Nickell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northmont is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Chase Fuduloff was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Northmont is undefeated when Fuduloff posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-10-1 otherwise. Drake Sauber was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Northmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Brookville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to Madison.
Brady Harrison was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carson Collins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Nathan Waggoner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Northmont pushed their record up to 8-10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Brookville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
Northmont took their victory against Brookville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
