Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Christian Beats First Assembly Christian for Their Second Straight Victory

If First Assembly Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mt. Pleasant Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Aidan Brown. The Mt. Pleasant Christian Lions enjoyed a cozy 44-28 win over the First Assembly Christian Lions on Friday thanks in part to Brown, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

First Assembly Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Corban McVey, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards. Jaden Amason was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Pleasant Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for First Assembly Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mt. Pleasant Christian will square off against Rocket City at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Mt. Pleasant Christian is facing Rocket City at the right time seeing as Rocket City is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for First Assembly Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 85-16 defeat against Pineview Christian on the 25th.
