The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx are taking a road trip to take on the First Assembly Christian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lausanne Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2 points per game this season.
While Lausanne Collegiate didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 53-41 victory over Piney Woods on Saturday. Those 53 points were actually the fewest the Lynx have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Lausanne Collegiate's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zuri McClure, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. McClure is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Calvin Pittman III, who put up 12 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for First Assembly Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They secured a 71-65 W over Munford on Monday.
Lausanne Collegiate better focus on containing KAHLIL KIBBLE and DANIEL TOWLES as the pair were huge in First Assembly Christian's win. KIBBLE shot 43% from the field en route to 19 points and three steals, while TOWLES dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. CHARLIE GOSS was another key player, putting up 11 points.
The victory was the third in a row for Lausanne Collegiate, bringing their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for First Assembly Christian, their record now sits at 4-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lausanne Collegiate has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38 boards per game. However, it's not like First Assembly Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Lausanne Collegiate against First Assembly Christian in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 79-44 victory. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
