While Skyline's victory against Shelley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grizzlies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Russets on Friday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Grizzlies have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Not much got past Liam Lynch, who gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Shelley off the board.

At the plate, Skyline's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Schwedes, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Schwedes hit this season.

The win (which was Skyline's third in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Shelley, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Skyline beat the Russets by a score of 9-1 later that day.
