Volleyball Recap: Tomball Memorial Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Keira Pierce and Maysen Pauze

After a string of four wins, Tomball Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lake Ridge Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Tomball Memorial's loss came despite strong showings from Maysen Pauze and Keira Pierce. Pauze had nine digs and two aces, while Pierce hit 62.5% for five kills and 14 assists and ten digs. Pierce is on a roll when it comes to hitting percentage, as she's posted one of at least 62.5% in the last three games she's played. Leslie Nganou also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Leading Lake Ridge to victory were Zoe Patteson and Hailey Halfmann. Patteson had 22 assists and six digs, while Halfmann had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Halfmann has posted over her last 12 matches.

Tomball Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lake Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Tomball Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Stony Point on the 21st. As for Lake Ridge, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against St. Stephen's Episcopal on the 21st.
