The DeSoto Thunderbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 23 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Delta Academy with a sharp 51-28 victory on Tuesday. The win was just what DeSoto needed coming off of a 70-39 loss in their prior game.
Anslee Barnes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Gore, who scored ten points along with three steals.
DeSoto pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Delta Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
DeSoto will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Calhoun Academy at 6:00 p.m. Calhoun Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Delta Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walnut at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th.
