Sam Shaughessy Turns in Season-Best Effort
Blaine was led to victory by Sam Shaughessy, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Shaughessy rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Blaine's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Shaughessy and Blaine will challenge Shakopee at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The victory was the third in a row for Anoka, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Podany and Anoka will welcome Wayzata at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Welch Posts Huge Game in 55-19 Win
Another Anoka player making an appearance on this list is Zach Welch. He rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
For the season, Welch has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 27.6 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had two rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 12.

On Thursday, Anoka got the W thanks in part to Charlie Hendrickson playing the best football he has all season. Hendrickson picked up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards.
This year, Hendrickson has caught those 2 touchdowns while averaging 33.4 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 0.2 receiving yards per game.
