The Pieper Warriors had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-14 win over Veterans Memorial on the road. The result was nothing new for Pieper, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Pieper's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake South led the charge by throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Brady Hopper was in the mix too, providing Pieper with two touchdowns.
Pieper's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Veterans Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Pieper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Veterans Memorial will head out on the road to face off against Tivy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
