Baseball Recap: Florence Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Florence didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Vanguard College Prep Vikings on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Buffaloes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tanner Piel was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Parker, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Florence's win bumped their record up to 5-1-1.

Florence has already played their next matchup, a 9-0 defeat against Groesbeck on the 1st. As for Vanguard College Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-10 victory against Veritas Academy on the 3rd.
