The Evans Trojans suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 55-24 defeat at the hands of Winter Park. While losing is never fun, Evans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while Winter Park is ranked 134th).
Winter Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Seay led the charge by scoring 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Calista Rand, who scored 13 points.
Evans has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Winter Park, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
