The Fort Bend Travis Tigers on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Fort Bend Clements Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Fort Bend Travis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-55 to Fort Bend Elkins. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Bend Travis in their matchups with Fort Bend Elkins: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Clements put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 62-47 victory over Fort Bend Austin. Given Fort Bend Clements' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Fort Bend Austin is ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Bend Travis' defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Fort Bend Clements, they pushed their record up to 23-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Fort Bend Travis and Fort Bend Clements were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Fort Bend Travis came up empty-handed after a 48-47 loss. Can Fort Bend Travis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
