The Pinole Valley Spartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Pinole Valley fought the good fight in their overtime game against Saint Mary's on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 77-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (64), Pinole Valley still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Jaylin Reed, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and five assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Navdeep Johal, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell to Oakland 63-57.
Pinole Valley now has a losing record at 10-11. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Pinole Valley couldn't quite finish off St. Patrick-St. Vincent in their previous meeting on January 3rd and fell 56-54. Can Pinole Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
