Seneca Valley had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it four. They lost 22-1 to the Gaithersburg Trojans. If the Screaming Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 12-9 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Seneca Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Rampersaud, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Rampersaud has hit this season.
As for Gaithersburg, their record now sits at 2-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Gaithersburg's side, Brennan Potter and Nicholas Bixler made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Potter pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Bixler struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Potter went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Bixler went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Bixler has become a key player for Gaithersburg: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Gaithersburg got a massive performance out of Vincent Burakiewicz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Burakiewicz also scored three runs, which is notable because the Trojans are 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alex Lantos, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Seneca Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-10 defeat against Paint Branch on the 9th. As for Gaithersburg, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-4 loss against Poolesville on the 9th.
