It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Peru at home to the tune of 42-7. Considering Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk has won seven contests by more than 30 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Potter, who threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a rushing scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Green, who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Peru to a paltry 174 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 4.5 times before it was all said and done. Peru's QB won't forget Green anytime soon given Green sacked him twice.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.33 points. As for Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Rye at 3:00 p.m. Rye will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Peru does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
