Penns Manor hasn't had much luck against Homer-Center recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Comets will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.
Penns Manor is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They fell 4-0 to United.
Penns Manor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor James, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Red Dragons. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Collin Dunn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Homer-Center got a massive performance out of Drew Fisher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Fisher a new career-high. Brayden Rado was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Homer-Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purchase Line only posted an OBP of .263.
Homer-Center pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Penns Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Penns Manor might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Homer-Center in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Comets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
