If the East Greenwich Avengers were riding high off their 20-0 takedown of the Cranston East Thunderbolts last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Greenwich lost to Chariho on the road by a decisive 21-7 margin on Thursday. The match was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but East Greenwich couldn't answer the 14 points Chariho scored afterwards.
Alex DeTomasis threw for 140 yards on 11 of 17 attempts. Ryan Sheeran was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards. On the ground, Carlos Gallegos rushed for 29 yards.
East Greenwich bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.4 points per game. As for Chariho, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-10.
East Greenwich does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chariho also has no future games currently scheduled.
