The Nimitz Cougars posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eisenhower 67-37 on the road. Given Nimitz's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Eisenhower is ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nimitz's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Woods, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Samuel, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Nimitz pushed their record up to 16-11 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Eisenhower, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nimitz will take on Benjamin Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin Davis is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Eisenhower, they will play host again and welcome MacArthur, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
