The SkyView Academy Hawks will stay at home for another game and welcome the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. SkyView Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Dayspring Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact SkyView Academy proved on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-42 victory over Dawson School.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead SkyView Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Dove, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Dove has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Aguirre, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Dayspring Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 74-37 defeat at the hands of Bishop Machebeuf. While losing is never fun, Dayspring Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Bishop Machebeuf is ranked 50th).
SkyView Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for SkyView Academy against Dayspring Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 67-40 win. Will SkyView Academy repeat their success, or does Dayspring Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
