Hanover is a perfect 4-0 against Laconia since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sachems at 4:30 p.m. Hanover's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Laconia's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Hanover lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Merrimack Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Bears' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pride a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Bears have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Daigle made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jorgen Drent, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sean Nam, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Laconia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 10-3 to Hollis-Brookline.
Laconia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Dee, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Carter Jones was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Hanover is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Laconia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Laconia's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Hanover has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Laconia, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Hanover keep running through batters, or will the Sachems buck the trend?
Hanover took their win against Laconia when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Sachems have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
