The Friendswood Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Terry Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-29, which was the final score in Friendswood's tilt against Fulshear on Friday. While losing is never fun, Friendswood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Fulshear is ranked 35th).
Despite the defeat, Friendswood had strong showings from Brock Foster, who threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and Adam Buffington, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Foster is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Terry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 28-7 defeat to Angleton might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Terry in their matchups with Angleton: they've now lost three in a row.
Friendswood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. Terry has also been struggling this season, as they've lost five of their first six games, which gives them a 1-5 record this season.
Everything went Friendswood's way against Terry in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Friendswood made off with a 30-6 victory. Does Friendswood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Terry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
