The Pahoa Daggers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 68-45 defeat at the hands of Kamehameha Hawai'i. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pahoa in their matchups with Kamehameha Hawai'i: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Pahoa saw an underclassman step up: Kyran Canete scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaumuali'i Gancinia, who scored nine points.
Pahoa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Kamehameha Hawai'i, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pahoa on the road again on Saturday and play against Christian Liberty Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Christian Liberty Academy is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Kamehameha Hawai'i, they will head out on the road to take on Hilo at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
