The Charleston Math & Science Riptide lost against the Burke Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Charleston Math & Science's tough 51-28 loss to Burke might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Charleston Math & Science has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Charleston Math & Science still got an impressive performance from Tyler Simmons, who scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Grant, who scored eight points.
Leading Burke to victory were Terry Jenkins and Juel Mack. Jenkins scored nine points along with seven assists and three steals, while Mack scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mack is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Sam Mattison was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Charleston Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Burke, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.
Charleston Math & Science does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burke, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cross at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Cross has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 735 points over their last 11 matchups.
