Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Brookland-Cayce

Brookland-Cayce extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Dalacia Rouse. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 71-30 stomp they got against the Georgetown Bulldogs thanks in part to Rouse, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 boards. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Kamryn Etheredge, who posted 22 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

Brookland-Cayce is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Georgetown, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Brookland-Cayce and Georgetown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Brookland-Cayce (ranked 157th) will meet Gray Collegiate Academy (ranked 38th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, Georgetown (ranked 214th) will meet Hanahan (ranked 95th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
