Baseball Recap: University Find Success

University won the last time they faced Deltona and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans skirted past the Wolves 3-2.

Tyler Kniebbe got the start for University and what a start it was: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaiden Palmer, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of University's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't). Rocco Maenza was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one double.

University hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deltona struck out ten times.

University's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Deltona, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat against Spruce Creek on the 25th. As for Deltona, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Viera at 7:00 p.m.
