The Northwestern Wildcats had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 62-54 win over High Point on Tuesday. The victory was just what Northwestern needed coming off of a 95-26 loss in their prior match.
High Point lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ibrahim Turay, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. It was the first time this season that Turay pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kadan Solomonraj, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Northwestern's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for High Point, they dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Northwestern will challenge Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bladensburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for High Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DuVal at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. High Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 296th, while DuVal is ranked 102nd).
