The Oak Park Northmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Truman Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Oak Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Kearney. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oak Park came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Kearney is ranked 205th).
Meanwhile, Truman's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Kansas City.
Oak Park dropped their record down to 14-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Truman, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Oak Park beat Truman 57-49 when the teams last played back in January. Will Oak Park repeat their success, or does Truman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
