Dowagiac hasn't had much luck against Brandywine recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chieftains will look to defend their home field against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Dowagiac earned a 9-6 win over Michigan Lutheran. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chieftains.

The team relied heavily on Chase Frazier, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lamone Moore, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Dowagiac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan Lutheran only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Brandywine had just enough and edged out Michigan Lutheran 7-5 on Monday.
Ryder Richard was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Brandywine is 6-1 when Richard posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Marshall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Brandywine is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Dowagiac, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
