The Wayne Hills Patriots lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a tough 49-29 defeat at the hands of Northern Highlands. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wayne Hills has scored all season.
It was another big night for Sawyer Chapler, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Northern Highlands. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Dipasupil, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Wayne Hills has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Northern Highlands, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Hills will challenge Weehawken at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Weehawken will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Wayne Hills is ranked 141st). As for Northern Highlands, Northern Highlands and Randolph will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
